Sterling Volunteers
We have received this information from the conference regarding background checks.   This new program applies to all staff, staff spouses and any parents that wish to participate in any Pathfinder activities (age 18 or older).  If you are planning on helping or participating this year, please follow the directions of the attached document.  Some of you may help with youth groups at other locations (churches [Sabbath School, Pathfinders, Adventurers], schools, etc.)  You will only have to do this once, but make sure to include all the different organizations.  

For Collegedale Pathfinders: choose Church, Collegedale SDA Church, Pathfinders (even if your church membership is at a different church.  Then make sure to add all other places/churches that would need to have the screening completed. ​

  1. If you are interested in joining Collegedale Pathfinders as staff please fill out this form so that the club has the information that they need. Form
  2. The website for the background check is www.ncsrisk.org/adventist
  3. The background check and screening must be completed every three years. 
  4. Unless you are a paid employee of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference there is no reason to select an employee role in the Sterling Volunteers system.​
  5. Training and Screening is now a joint process.  This eliminates the confusion of being trained yet not screened and also educates all involved in our ministry.  The background check will not be complete until the entire process is done.
  6. Multiple roles may be selected within your church (e.g., Sabbath School teacher, Pathfinders, Deacon)
  7. If you do not possess a driver's license please select the Pathfinder/Adventurer without a license role and this will lead you to a regular background check.  If this role is selected these individuals ​are not to drive club members. ​​
  8. Individuals will receive a copy of their record.
  9. System will alert individuals when it is time to renew.
  10. Sterling Volunteers is the Volunteer version  of Sterling, which services Lockheed Martin.  They are well equipped to work with an organization our size.
Pathfinder Staff Needed for Year 2025-2026

The Collegedale Pathfinder Club is accepting applications for staff members for next year. 

Whether you are a parent, grandparent or a caring adult, what better way to show our young people they are special by becoming involved. We currently have parents, grandparents, college students, and caring adults in leadership positions.
We are in great need for more staff members in the following positions:
  • Kitchen help on campouts
  • Counselor
  • Honor Instructors
  • Uniform coordinator
